Hi, this is Steve, and welcome to Life Grenade, a site dedicated to those of you whom want to welcome some change into your lives that will bring you better physical, mental, and spiritual health through living the life you always envisioned for yourself. First, a little bit about my background and the intentions for this site.
As a college student, I studied electrical engineering, computer science, and Information systems simultaneously trying to choose a fun and rewarding career. Perhaps you may be able to relate.
It turned out that I could not completely wrap my brain around analog circuit analysis, and I was not so adept at either software or hardware programming, so I ultimately studied and graduated with a bachelors degree in Management Information Systems.
It was tough even finding a student job in IT at the time, and I eventually interned as a student in the field of inventory and materials management.
I have previously held positions in university financial administration and office management. After the newness wore off, I eventually disliked both positions. It wash’t just these two jobs in particular. I eventually determined that I disliked having to go into an office and sit in a chair for a minimum of eight hours per day in order to receive a paycheck.
I know it sounds silly, but I simply felt trapped and increasingly unhappy and hopeless each and every passing day. I would bring the unhappiness home with me from work, and this would create stress and arguments with my wife. I was drinking too much beer in the evenings to cope. This was unfair to my wife, and I knew if things continued in the manner they were, that it would only be a matter of time until I ultimately lost everything and would be even unhappier than I had already grown to be.
Things felt like they were spiraling out of control, and I felt like this was how it was going to be forever, unless something changed drastically, and soon. There just had to be another way because I no longer wanted to live like that or feel that way any longer. Perhaps you can relate.
But there was still a glimmer of hope. As a young teenager I would often look back fondly at those days where I worked for myself in landscaping (mowing lawns and pulling weeds) in junior high and throughout high school to make money.
I still smile when I think about the freedom I had. I could double up on jobs on the days where I felt like I had a lot of energy, and I had the freedom to not work on days where I was just not feeling it. Try doing that too many times at your nine to five job and see how that goes 🙂
With landscaping, I simply was required to complete a job. However, for each job I had full control of when I completed it, how long it took me to complete, and the price I could charge. This made more sense to me and was both a job type and a working environment that I could deal with. You have something to complete that day, and you can go home the moment that you are finished with your work that day. No waiting out the clock in a cubicle the rest of the day, on those days where you have finished the majority of what you had intended for that day. There was a feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment after each job. This was simply a better fit for me.
Owning a business is always something I had wanted to accomplish. I wanted to be in control of my time and my work. I could feel myself desperate for that feeling of fulfillment and accomplishment each day once again.
I felt like it had to be now, or I would never do this. So, I quit my job in the middle of 2018 and have not looked back since. I have been so much happier now, and I have so much more hope and confidence than I have ever had. This site is the beginning of owning my own business and it is centered around helping you to break the chains that bind, and help you become physically and mentally healthier, happier and more fulfilled.
It is my belief that there are many of you out there whom also want to find a way out of the cubicle life, waiting out a clock, and sitting in traffic. You want to find ways to be healthier, happier, and more fulfilled. You want to find ways to spend your time, your way. You want more free time for family, friends, travel, leisure, exercise, and good food. You want less stress, worry, and anxiety, and more happiness and fulfillment. This site is dedicated to finding out and identifying what that is for you, and working to get there, together.
You don’t need to feel stuck. Besides, there are many other ways to make a living these days thanks to modern technology, the internet, smart phones, the gig economy, and all the great things that are still on the horizon out there that will make so much more possible for so many.
Life Grenade is dedicated to getting rid of what is not working, and rebuilding a life worth living, a life comprised of top physical and mental health, happiness, spiritualness, and abundance.
